Catapult launches new education programme
Catapult has launched a new education programme designed to give sports science students and junior practitioners the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills around the application of wearable technology in elite sport.
Fully endorsed by The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), the three-stage programme contributes towards BASES accreditation and is designed to introduce the steps required to effectively collect, analyse, communicate and apply performance data.
Taught by Catapult staff and featuring a blend of theory and practice, the programme will explore the relationship between locomotive, mechanical and cardiovascular parameters to give a detailed overview of key concepts and processes.
The inaugural Level 1 and Level 2 courses will be hosted by the University of Hull later this year, with plans to expand into other territories in future. The first Level 1 course will be held on 7th September 2018.
Chris Towlson, Lecturer in Sports Coaching & Performance at the University of Hull, said: “Partnering with Catapult on their education courses has enabled the University of Hull to benefit from Catapult’s industry expertise and add value to our students through new practical skills and accreditations.”
