3G/4G UMTS Testing Systems
Universal Mobile Telecommunications System is a 3G technology based
on 3GPP standards for mobile voice and high-rate data traffic. With
Catapult UMTS test systems, developers of third and fourth generation
(3G and 4G) network architectures can test the evolving network
by creating custom scenarios for Node B, radio network controllers
(RNC), UMTS, (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) and
core networks.
For the 3G/4G UMTS Network, the Catapult UMTS test systems will perform:
- HSDPA Testing
- HSUPA Testing
- Packet Data Testing
- Protocol Analysis
- Node Validation
Catapult's UMTS test systems provide the tools required by network
equipment manufacturers and service providers for:
- Stress Testing Network Elements:
- Expandable: adding computing power, physical interfaces
to any Catapult scalable platform
- Load utilities generating voice and data traffic:
- XStream for maximum packet data generation to
include testing of HSDPA/HSUPA
- Traffic Generation for circuit switch traffic, simulating
thousands of subscribers
- Customer defined reports for analysis
- Capable of simultaneously supporting hundreds of user equipments
(UEs)
- Functional Testing:
- Extensive array of 3GPP releases and variants supported
- Full protocol stack testing including lower layers
- User defined reporting to assist in analysis
- Utilities enabling user friendly, time efficient, multi-purpose
test environment
- PESQ for measuring voice quality
- UMA
- Network testing and validation of data traffic
- InterworkingTesting:
- Test environment simulating key UMTS nodes to surround a
DUT for simple or complex multi-networking interoperability
and handovers
- State of the art software simulating key technologies and
network components such as WiMAX, IMS, GPRS and PSTN.
